May. 5th, 2006 10:15 amIt's lonely in the office this morning. The boss and Kevin are still away on business, and now Anne is in Seattle, so I'm all by myself in this big open room they call my office. The plus side of it is that I can turn my music up:) It's also a lot easier to be productive when there's no one out here shooting the shit with me. I got all my accounting done this morning by 9:45, and now I can chill until I start getting more email to answer. The girl who worked here before used the support email address when she signed up for things on the internet, so even though she's been gone several months now, the inbox still gets tons of spam addressed to her. I could maybe do something about that, but it's not really a big deal.
This morning when I woke up, I was looking for clothes to wear today, and looking at myself in the mirror, I noticed the beginnings of a six pack. It's more like a four pack poking out from a well-insulated cooler...but it's progress:) With the exception of Tuesday, when I went hiking, I've gone to the gym and done resistance and cardio every day this week. Jeremy has agreed to work the entire bridge tournament so I have time to go over the weekend, too. Yay:) So I'll go tonight after work, then meander over to the hotel for the tournament. If I find they don't need me, I'll head back home, because Blake and Holden are visiting this weekend. They are 6 and 3½, and they are probably the cutest little boys ever. It's been a while since I've had the pleasure of their company, but it's always a good time. They'll actually be at the house when I get home from work today, but I have to go work out first or I never will. The gym closes early on Friday, so I have to go right after work. I'm still a little sore from Monday's deathsession, but I was able to do a few upper body machines yesterday. I didn't push it, though. I did all the leg machines (although I just realized I forgot calves...oh well) and then did 30 minutes on the elliptical. It's much easier to run when there's something engaging on TV. Last night it was the World Series of Poker, and when you can't hear the commentary, it's not very interesting. I know I'm the card shark type, but I don't find it very interesting when you can hear the commentary, actually. Cards are meant to be played, not spectated.
I watched the Dbacks whoop up on the Cubbies yet again last night. It was a great game. Chad Tracy is doing some amazing things behind the plate. And he's a redhead. I love redheads. :)
Tomorrow night is Ember Swift at the Gravity Lounge - 8pm, $10. I recommend this to EVERYONE.
virgopoet, especially you. You'll love it. Let me know if you want a ride.
Peace.
