It's been quite a day here today, but it's winding down, and I am glad to be heading home shortly. Lots of office gossip today - none of which will be interesting to anyone that doesn't work here, so I'll spare you.

I got a call from my realtor today. I realized in talking to Kerry that I really haven't posted much about my new place in public entries. I guess that was because I didn't want to jinx it. I've been so worried we wouldn't be able to get it, because we're going to have to sell our house first, and that keeps getting pushed back, and it's all kinds of crazy. Well, the good news is, our condo will be ready to close on December 14 at the earliest. That's also the bad news. The good part is that it gives us plenty of breathing room, and also hopefully some time where we won't be paying a mortgage...and can rake in some interest from the sale of the house. The bad part is that that's a long time not to have our own place. It is el suck! But it's what we needed, so it's okay. We'll find a place to sublet, now that we have a sort-of-definite time frame. Overall, the good outweighs the bad significantly.

I'm meeting with my trainer again tonight. I hope she works me hard without killing me. I didn't sleep well this weekend. That's starting to catch up with me now, actually. *yawn* And is it bad that it's 4:18 and I'm already hungry for dinner? I wonder what the earlybird special is.

And since I'm in a bitch and moan mood, wtf is with this weather? It's under 50 degrees and rainy today! The forecast doesn't look promising for the rest of the week, either. I'm bummed.

I need to cheer up - I know...
Things I'm looking forward to:
Friday - Ember Swift with Kerry and Jill
5/20 - Possible trip to Nova for a Robbie show
5/26 - Raleigh bridge tournament - get to see Jeremy F, Jay, Darleen, & co.
6/2 - Girlyman
6/3 - Herndon Fest - more Girlyman, more Kerry and Jill, with a side of Jewels
6/4 - Herndon Fest - Robbie, Mike shows
6/9 - Agents of Good Roots
6/10 - Belmont Stakes - possibly going to NYC with Adrian
end of June - 7/4 - Alexandria bridge - get to see the DC posse
7/15 - Jcow's birthday - will come up with something special
7/19-7/24 - FALCON RIDGE FOLK FESTIVAL
Okay, that did it, I'm happy again. Everything's better with FRFF on the brain.

Wow I really am tired, though. I need some energy food. I wonder what's in the kitchen here...probably nothing healthy. I'll wait.

Peace.

Good to hear about your house/condo!

Are you moving into the place over by 5th street and Harris? (Incidentally, I initially typed "overy." Hahaha, Freud.) My friend Allison is moving in there in November sometime, and it's *also* under construction now. So who knows?

Today I emailed Teh Big Boss about FRFF, and she said it wouldn't be a problem so long as my immediate supervisors said it was OK, and tomorrow I am asking them, so YAY!!! (But I'm not buying the ticket until tomorrow or Weds so as not to jinx it.) So exciting!!!!! I'm probably just going to leave ass-early Thursday morning and get there mid-day, so as not to over-tax my resources. Fucking awesome.

Cool, sounds good.

I'd rather not mention the location of my new home on a public entry. But no, that's not it. Mine is a renovation, not a new construction.

Got it--sorry about the location thing, that didn't even occur to me. ^^; Mea culpa. You can always screen my first comment anyway, if you want to be negative-spacely safe...

Nah, it's okay. I'm just not going to throw out the address or name of the complex on here.

Stephen Kellogg is playing Herndon Fest.. At least we think. I can't remember what day, though.

Yeah, he is. The 2nd. Which is when I'll be seeing Girlyman in Charlottesville. I was really sad about that.

Aw, boo! They're also in Williamsburg and Ashland that week. I still need to pick which one I'm going to!

If it's Ashland Coffee and Tea, definitely go there. Every artist that plays there goes on and on about how great it is. I've still never been, but it's very high on my to-do list.

I think that's what I'm leaning toward. One of my concert gals lives in Ashland and they've been there tons of times. They love it!

Have you ever been to the Gravity Lounge? That's another top notch nearby venue. It's my personal fave.
