May. 31st, 2006 09:57 amI'm not as bummed out as I was last night, but I'm still not on top of the world, exactly. I have things to be happy about today - two of the CDs I ordered came in the mail yesterday. Best of James and my replacement Dog's Eye View CD for the one I'd worn completely out before. I was so excited about the James CD, because I've had "Laid" stuck in my head for months now, really, and I've wanted nothing more than to put it in my car stereo and rock the eff out on a long drive. Well it didn't come in time for my drive to Raleigh, but I did get to listen on my way to work today. The downside? I was next to a cop the whole way in, so I couldn't blast it and/or speed. Sigh. But it was still enjoyable, and I'm glad I got to finally hear the song after trying to scrounge up the proper beat from memory (I was a bit off).
I'm trying a new look. Well, a new hairstyle. It's the Audrey Hepburn 'do from Breakfast At Tiffany's. I kind of accidentally stumbled across it while trying to just get the hair out of my effing face, and it turned out looking fantastic, I think. It puts me in a good mood to think I look like Audrey Hepburn - she's my husband's favorite, after all:) He hasn't seen the look yet, because he's over in McGaheysville working on the house project that never ends.
Work is slow today. I had to learn a bunch of Nate's tasks, because he's having dental surgery and will be out tomorrow and Friday. I keep forgetting that this is a 4-day week and it's already Wednesday. That's reason enough to cheer up.
And the Diamondbacks had a splendid game last night - CG from Miguel Batista - I love it.
Peace.
