Jun. 22nd, 2006 07:40 pmIt's a good thing Jer listened to me when I told him to hide the smooth and meltys (the best candy in the world!) from me, because if he didn't, I'd be eating the whole bag right now. Yum...dammit.
I actually had a decently healthy dinner - I was going to have a hot pocket, but someone ate the last one, and the only food in the house was stuff that required cooking of some sort, so I was going to go out, but Roope reminded me that I like myself and just got back from working out, and really should just cook something. I hate it when people are right. So he supervised me in making these things I'd picked up at the grocery store last week. They're like brocoli nuggets - I know, it sounds delicious, right? But they really were:) Morningstar Farms makes them and they're positively delightful. The only problem is, they do not make a whole meal. And rather than cook something else, I came up to my room to look for the candy I know Jer hid *somewhere.* But I can't find it. It's probably better that way. If I'm still hungry in a few minutes, I'll go heat up some vegetarian baked beans. Those are pretty healthy, I guess.
So, at the gym tonight, I got a little bonus. Yes, ex was there. So was his girlfriend:) I wasn't nearly as bothered by their presence today. I had a great workout and felt really good. I did legs, bumping up all the machines by 5 pounds, except the leg press, where I've been doing 120 for the last few weeks and which I think might be a maximum for me...at least, it'll be a while before I can go any higher on that one. It's funny how vastly different all the different types of machines are. Like, there are machines that look the same, they're just different brands, and the amount of weight I can handle on one might be 30 pounds more than I can do on another - it's nuts, and I don't understand, but whatever.
I only did legs and abs today. Tomorrow I'll be sure to get a good upper body workout, but all the arm machines were in use today and I didn't feel like waiting in line to work out muscles that were already sore, so I passed. I didn't have any cramping issues today, so I did a hard run for 30 minutes on an elliptical, bumping the resistance up a level, too. Missing two weeks didn't really set me back as much as I thought it might. I definitely gained some weight in my time off, but I think I've taken care of that for the most part this week. Maybe not totally, but I'm not going to sweat it like I was. I'll be okay. Just keep going...
The Diamondbacks lost again today. I don't want to talk about it.
Tomorrow is Friday. I believe my family reunion is this weekend, but I haven't really made any plans or talked to my mom about it yet. I imagine I'll ride down with her for the big Sunday festivities, but I don't know what I'm doing tomorrow or Saturday, other than definitely going to the gym. Maybe I'll go swimming somewhere on Saturday. It's been oppressively hot here the last few days.
Go see An Inconvenient Truth: A Global Warning, if you haven't yet, btw, speaking of oppressive heat...
Peace.
