Jun. 23rd, 2006 10:33 amI'm slowly coming out of this funk. I feel good today. I had a lapse yesterday evening, but I'm okay. I forgive myself. I spent the morning talking to Doug about all the vitamins he takes for breakfast. I thought I was doing well to take my multivitamin each day. Damn, though, homeboy knows his vitamins. I'm just scraping the surface. I was looking at pictures of myself from last year - I look so much better now. Even though the process of getting fit is discouragingly slow, I can look back and tell I've made a lot of progress. I had a moment of narcissism this morning while putting lotion on. I was like, damn, my legs look awesome. They do. I'm pleased.
I think I'll go light on legs tonight at the gym, heavy on upper body, and then maybe try some extra cardio. We'll see. I'll try to remember to take a book. I haven't done any real reading lately, and that makes me sad. It's hard to read while running, but maybe I can manage to read a chapter or two while doing the bike thing. It won't hurt to try.
Things I'm looking forward to:
The weekend
Family Reunion this Sunday
Extra money from teaching bridge class on Monday
Another training session next week - get pumped up!
Alexandria Friday-Tuesday for bridge - seeing the Coolest Boy in the World, and others!
Ahren visiting again after Alexandria for a little while - hopefully getting to play bridge/win with him in the Cville game
Southern Culture on the Skids/Jeremy's birthday - July 15
Falcon Ridge - this year with FRFF virgin Emily G, as well as FRFF vets John Linn and Laura Massie, who missed it last year, and all the regulars!
It's hard for me to look forward to anything beyond FRFF, because anything beyond it means it's over, and that makes me sad like you wouldn't believe.
Until next time...peace.
