Jun. 29th, 2006 06:52 amThe gym last night was killer. I gave myself a break on legs, only doing the hip abductor machine before moving on to upper body stuff. I did abs, arms, back, chest, and shoulders, then I ran on an elliptical. Again the cardio section was pretty crowded, so I was in between two people (which I hate). The guy next to me was staring at my display, and obviously competing with me. Not to be outdone, I competed right back, and rather than the 125-135 rpm that I usually run, we were both around 160 rpm (it's a huge difference!) for the full 30 minutes. Yow. Well, he didn't "beat" me, anyway, but I'm all kinds of sore now. So much for giving my legs a break.
I'm up earlier than usual because I went to bed before 9pm last night. I was bored, no one was home, I'd exhausted the fun in online card games...so I dozed off before dark. It would be nice if I could say I woke up feeling refreshed from my extra-long sleep, but the truth of it is that I didn't sleep well at all. I was up every few hours tossing and turning because I was too hot or uncomfortable or some such problem. Meh. Also, my tummy is still a little upset from accidentally eating beef the other day. The Chinese buffet that Brent and I frequent had put a meat dish in their regular tofu spot, and I loaded what I thought was tofu onto my plate - but it was really beef, which I figured out after swallowing at least one piece. I picked the rest out, but my lunch still had beef residue from being cooked with it, so I probably got enough in there to throw off my system for a couple of days. Damn you, Peking Restaurant! (I know what you're thinking. It was a buffet, why didn't you just get a new plate and start over? I would have, but we got it to go.)
Today I have to do more of Nate's job at work, which I find really boring and a total downer, but I'll be okay. It didn't rain yesterday, so that gave the floodwaters a chance to recede, and I shouldn't have any problems with my train tomorrow. Yay for the train:)
I think I'll jump in the shower now.
Peace.
