Sep. 10th, 2006 07:44 amYesterday was about as successful as I could hope for. Emily brought her friend Allison shopping with us in the morning, and it turns out Allison also bought a condo in my new neighborhood - we're going to live across the street from each other, and she's also a huge Crooked Still fan. Good times are ahead, I'm certain. We went to two thrift stores and that antique/craft market thing in Greene County. I picked up a pair of pants that I'm very excited about, as well as three sweaters, for a grand total of $12.
I came home and watched the Hokies cream UNC, then checked d3football.com to see that my eagles beat whoever they played (Shenandoah, maybe?) 30-0. BC hasn't allowed a point by the other team yet in their first two games. I can't wait to actually go see them play. Sept 30. :)
I didn't want to lie around on the couch all day, so I decided to go to the mall to talk to the cell phone people, and also maybe do some more shopping. I just got a raise, and I was so under budget on the thrift storing that I decided to treat myself. It's been a long time since I've bought NEW clothes. I managed to get to the mall without my wallet, so all I had was my checkbook, but no ID, and my memorized bank card number. I decided that if they wouldn't let me purchase without my ID, then I'd just leave stuff on hold and go back, but I didn't have any trouble.
I ran into a girl I used to work with at the Nut and talked to her for a bit, and then as soon as she was out of my sight, I spotted Ben Chambers with Liz. He told me that he and Kristen ARE coming camping, so that's seven of us now - anyone else? September 23rd, people, it's gonna rock. I talked to them a while, then finally got to shopping. I bought two thneads in colors that are somewhere between hokie and eagle, so I can get away with wearing them in support of either team. I'm going to give one to my mom, but I'll probably hang onto it until her birthday, so shh. I also found a lovely pair of black slacks on sale, two shirts I'd had my eye on for a while already, and a pair of brown boots that I've been meaning to buy for about two years now. All told I still spent under $100 and OMG I can't wait to wear those boots. I'm not really a shoe person, or even a shopping person for that matter, but it was the kind of trip that put me in really good spirits, and I'm pleased with myself.
Today I've got bridge at 2, but otherwise no plans for the day. I tried but failed to sleep in. The gym will be closed by the time I'm done with bridge...if any of y'all in town are looking for something to do, I've got no ideas, but I'm game. Let me know.
Peace.
