I got a contract on my house. I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am about this, but there are still a lot of factors that could hold up the sale, so until we close, I can't count on it as a done deal. The closing date is set for October 20th. I cannot begin to tell you how anxious I am for that date to arrive. But I'm relieved that someone made an offer. The realtor will continue to show the house for backup contracts in case this one falls through, but please keep sending those good vibes that it will hold up.

I had another idea that I'd like to get started on tonight. Things are starting to get a little cluttered in my temporary living space - which, btw, I've managed to keep VERY CLEAN for over a month now - and I need to get rid of a lot of things that I'm never going to use enough to justify hanging onto them. My mom took two boxes of things to her thrift store yesterday, but it just occurred to me that a lot of my things are in great condition, and I could probably sell them on ebay or half.com for a decent price. I know if I list them on half.com, it might be a while before anyone buys them, but I figure it's a better place to list things like books, which is the majority of what I'll be unloading. I also have a lot of clothes that are in great condition that I'm just not going to wear ever again. Think I stand a chance of selling those online, or should I just send them off to goodwill? And for books and things, what's the cheapest way for me to ship them, packaging-wise? I'm good once I get to the post office; I just want to know what I should charge on the "handling" side of it, because shipping supplies tend to get spendy and I don't want to lose money on these sales. Also any hints on what I shouldn't even bother trying to sell would be nice. Note to self: email Kerry about this:)

I have a headache now...I wish I could take a nap...maybe when I get home I'll be able to sleep because now that I finally have this contract, I can relax a little.

Peace.

YAY contract!

I would say just goodwill--half.com didn't work for me. But you never know. I was trying to sell some pretty bizarre books.
