Proposed Hike
Sep. 18th, 2006 03:16 pmI've never done this one, but it's close to the farm in the Shenandoah National Park and it looks like fun.
Turk Mountain Trail is in the park close to the Rockfish Gap entrance (about 15 miles from my farm), and it's a 2.2 mile round trip to a view. Should be a pretty easy hike, and fairly convenient, too. If it ends up being *too* easy, we can always stop at another hike along the parkway - there are lots of them there. Here's a link to that section of the park: http://www.nps.gov/shen/planyourvisit/upload/riprap_area.pdf
More details to follow, but so far we're going with this...say, 2pm? Later? Earlier? Your call.
Peace.
