Zsa-Zsa and I just got back from Walmart. We spent a good deal of time in the baby section, where I picked out some great things for my brother's little one. I got a bib that says "I love my auntie," because that shit is marketed directly at people like me who think that if the kid wears a bib that says "aunt" it will automatically make him think of me, even though he can't read or talk or recognize my face. I also bought some socks, because baby feet are the cutest things ever. In addition, I picked out a terry cloth pj outfit with the footies and a little giraffe and hippo embroidery. Still more, I got yellow washcloths and lastly a fleece coverall that works like a wearable blanket. It's green with white stars on it and irresistably cute. Hopefully I can spare a few minutes at work tomorrow to run to the post office and mail this stuff. I really want William to see how excited I am. :) Actually, I think I'll write him a letter now to put inside the package. I'm so thrilled about this aunt thing:) Oh yeah, today was payday - that paycheck went straight to the kid. Not the whole thing, yet, but it won't be long before I've spent it all. But that's ok because this is great.

Jer's bus was overbooked and it looks like I won't get to pick him up until Sunday morning now, which is a total bummer...:( But it's okay because I'm going to be an aunt:) (This makes all bad news bearable)

Earlier tonight I went to an auction with Jeremy's dad at his grandmother's church in Staunton. Rudy bought a baby blanket for me to give to my brother. It was donated by his aunt, so it's pretty special, I think. I met Jer's great uncle Lowell for the first time. Before we were even introduced, Lowell was giving me a giant hug and asking me if I was going to be joining the family soon. I told him I think so, and he gave me another hug and said "Welcome to the family!" all excited-like and even though it was awkward it made me happy. I also met his great aunt Dorothy, who was thrilled to see that I had purchased (even though it was Rudy who did the purchasing) the blanket she'd made. Old people are really sweet. There aren't that many left in my family, besides my parents' generation, which I don't really consider old just yet. Mom turns sixty on Monday. I suppose I should get her something, but I spent it all on the baby:)

Well it's bedtime I think. Work in the morning you know.

Peace.
