Oct. 19th, 2003 09:56 amJer was supposed to get home last night at 9:40. Then his bus driver in Iowa never showed up AND his bus was overbooked, so he didn't get out of Iowa until 3 hours behind schedule, causing him to miss his next bus in Chicago. When he finally found another bus to ride, he was supposed to make it to Harrisonburg at 8am this morning. Then I get a phone call at 5am saying his bus driver made a wrong turn and didn't notice for almost 3 hours...I called him when I woke up (just now) and he's just outside of Roanoke, stopping in every minor city from there to here. So I should see him before Christmas, I guess.
Work was boring yesterday and I was feeling terribly ill. I pretty much just sat around and read diamond stuff. Matt got bored and asked me to find something for him to do, so I let him make me a new ring;) It's a pretty london blue topaz round brilliant cut bezel set in white gold with a 3mm yellow gold shank. Jewelry language. Rah. I left at 6 instead of 6:30 because when I stood up to help close, I almost fainted. I told Christina I had to go anyway because otherwise I'd get too much overtime, and I don't like to do that. I worked enough hours for overtime because of fall break. She was all pissed because when I said I could work Monday and Tuesday, they cut back her hours and scheduled me instead. Once again, I like Christina, about 75% of the time. The other 25% I wish she would fade away into oblivion. She's just so bossy and rude to me sometimes, I think because she is trying to establish the superiority that she doesn't have. That's okay, though. I won't let it bother me. The other day Randy told me he wanted me to manage the store full time when I graduate, and he's putting Jeremy in charge of a lot of stuff over at the other office. Basically, he trusts us and doesn't give a shit what Christina is going to do. Oh well, not my problem. What is my problem is that I am still paying for eating six granola bars for dinner on Friday night. I don't suppose that was the best way to handle things. Fiber shock. Mmm.
Look, I wrote this whole long entry without once mentioning anything about being an aunt:) Well, I'm still all kinds of excited:)
Peace.
