Nov. 15th, 2006 08:56 amI got to work so early this morning...
I woke up at 5am and couldn't get back to sleep, so I watched a few episodes of Scrubs and then just got ready and came into work. I was here around 7:30 or so.
It's going to be a long day, but in the good way. I'm not so swamped today as I was yesterday, since I finished my feature for this week yesterday. The rest of the work day can't possibly be worse than yesterday. It's not that yesterday was difficult...more like trying. I was busy trying to finish my feature, which wasn't going as smoothly as the previous few weeks because I wasn't really feeling the topic this week, and shit kept interrupting me. Every single one of my coworkers and half our client base came at me with the stupidest questions they've ever asked. It was a miracle that I kept my cool...thanks to
tolangardh for letting me spout off over IM and blow off some steam. Anyway today will be long because I'm going to a concert tonight - but I haven't decided which one. Richard Shindell and Peter Mulvey are at the Gravity Lounge, and King Wilkie is at Starr Hill, I think. I really don't want to go to Starr Hill, but my cousins are coming down from DC and they are friends with KW, so we may end up there. I'm leaning toward the Gravity show though. We'll see. Either way it's going to be a late night.
Last night was a good night at the gym, too. I signed up for some more training, which will begin on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, so I've got about a week and a half to get myself into good enough condition that my first session back with my trainer won't kill me. I did upper body lifting last night, followed by 30 minutes on the treadmill. I jogged for the first six and last six minutes, and walked with a steepish incline for the middle 18 minutes. I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to jog the last part because I was feeling pretty sore and fatigued even before I started, but with about 7 minutes to go in my run, a guy got on the treadmill next to me to jog, and I was able to use him as my pacer for the last little bit. I don't know what the psychology behind it is, but it really helped. It's probably a pride thing. Anyway I was able to run at a really good pace for those last six minutes. I'm crazy sore today, so it's good that I'm taking the night off for a show. I don't have a bridge partner for Thursday, so I'll go to the gym again then, too. I've got a DI meeting Friday, so I won't be able to go then...that sucks, cause the gym closes early on Friday night. I didn't think about that when I agreed to this meeting...hrm. Oh well. I'll live. And I'll be back in there on Saturday morning.
Wow, what a boring entry I have written. Meh.
Peace.

Date: 2006-11-16 01:21 am (UTC)People still can't seem to read the signs that say NO SMOKING - I saw one girl light up and the door guy made her go outside (she managed to maintain her look of self-righteous indignation) and aside from it just being crowded, it wasn't that bad. I didn't have people stepping on me this time, although one random kid did kind of dance his ass up against me - still wondering what THAT was about...
