Nov. 21st, 2006 03:57 pmThe past few nights, I have not slept well. Maybe it's anxiety about the holiday or something, because it's certainly not for lack of sleepiness. I've been so tired today I can barely hold my eyes open. I'm going to the gym straight after work and then hopefully I'll fall asleep shortly after dinner. I keep waking up too early and falling asleep too late and my body just does not like this.
Yesterday was a pretty good gym day. Arms and cardio...good run, not too sore today. I'm trying to mix up the machines that I use, so we'll see if that has any effect. I can definitely see where I'm toning up in some areas...but others are lagging and I'd like them to catch up. I have my first training session since my hiatus on Saturday. That means Sunday is going to be a day of ouching, but it's for a good cause. Self esteem and all that.
Speaking of self esteem, I needed no help with mine at the bridge table last night. 68% game, easily cruising into first place. We missed a game on the very first board (partner's fault - he showed a weak hand when he had 18 points), but beyond that nearly everything was a top or tie for top. No bottom boards all night. There's no more club bridge this week on account of the holiday, but you may find me on BBO here and there. I'm pretty peeved at a non-ruling from last week, though, so I haven't played in a tourney since then. Those directors are useless.
My calendar tells me it's 16 days until moving day. That's not much more than 2 weeks. I hope I can make it...I'm so antsy about it. The only issue is that I may not have an internet connection at my temporary place. I'm not sure about that yet. I'll survive without it, though, if I have to. I thought living without a TV would be hard, but I did that for a while and it was great. I'm not planning on having a TV at the new place, either. Care to take bets on how long that will last?
On the subject of bets...everyone in my office is talking a lot of shit about how UVA is going to own the Hokies this weekend, just because UVA beat Miami - but who hasn't this year? But no one will take my bet, even with a 17 point spread. I say if you're going to talk shit, you need to put your money where your mouth is. Otherwise, you're just an annoying jackass. Not that I encourage betting on sports...but if you're too sissy to put a dollar up (all our office bets are one dollar) for the team you're so sure will rock the house, then, well, shut your trap. I rest my case.
Peace.
