jianantonicEven though it's been a short week, work has been crazy busy lately. All the mega-important stuff was done in the nick of time, and the slightly less mega but still really important stuff that still needs to get done can just wait until after I blog for a minute, dammit, cause I need to tell lame stories about myself every now and then or I just can't make it through the day, mkay?
The sad thing is that nothing much has happened to talk about, since I've been trapped at my desk for approximately the last 48 hours. That's not entirely true, but it feels like I haven't been able to push work out of my mind for more than 2 seconds at a time since I got back. I even dream about it. It's just a stressful time of year, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I may work late today, but I'll be done with this crap shortly.
Emily saw penguins: 78degreessouth.blogspot.com. That's probably more interesting than anything I have to mention, but I did play bridge last night.
Ahren and I have a tradition that we always dress up when we play bridge together. Last night, though, we were rather near the end of our clean clothes. I found a matching outfit, but he did not...nevertheless, he decided that wearing dressy clothes that didn't match would be better than wearing a t-shirt and jeans - you can't break tradition! So he wore a light blue shirt, dark blue pants, a green tie, the rattiest brown belt I've ever seen, black dress shoes, white athletic socks, and a black leather bomber jacket. I've never been more embarrassed to be seen with someone...
But we came in 3rd out of 10 for whatever masterpoint award that gets us. We didn't expect to win, but we were surprised at who beat us - two other C teams. (Not easybridgers - I'll never let *that* happen.) We soundly trounced my mother, which is all that really matters, and we headed home and hit the sack.
And then I found out this morning that the BIG UNIT is back with the Diamondbacks. GO BIG UNIT!!!!
