jianantonicAhren and I just won a BBO pair game. We've often won our section but I do think this is the first time we've won a whole event. It was slightly soured by the fact that some guy who played against us accused us of cheating because Ahren found my void in a contract to set them. Granted...it's rather logical to assume I do have a void, because I bid Hamilton (we don't use the C-word here). Anyway he's an ass because he took us for 10 IMPs on one board! Yeah, we cheated, but to make it less obvious, we decided we'd throw a huge board each round. Moron. No, we didn't cheat. Yes, we did take 12 IMPs from him on one board...hehe. His profile says he's a World Class player and a bridge pro for 30+ years, so we looked him up on ACBLScore. mczen knows him) but he only has 1600 points. Not a very good pro, I guess. Anyway after we played him he was all "I'm watching you." So after that I really didn't want to win, y'know? But we did and so he thinks we cheated even though we didn't and ARGH. So of course, who's the first pair we get set up against in the next tourney? That guy. So I really wanted to have a mediocre round against him, which we sort of did, except the very first board, Ahren misbid and we stumbled into the wrong contract which ended up being a 100% board for us. Of course. So of course the guy thinks we're cheating now. Though, if we are, we're the STUPIDEST cheaters ever, because we gave him too much of a board the first time, and then AFTER he "busted" us, we make this impossible bid. Yeah. Way to go us. So I'm glad we're winning and stuff, but Jesus, I didn't want it to go like this. Meh.
The guy we played with yesterday called and said he'd like to team up with us in Williamsburg next weekend, so we're a go for Sunday there. Yay:)
