Jan. 24th, 2007 02:55 pmMy leg is much better today, thank you for asking. The combo of staying completely off it yesterday, massage therapy from Roope in the evening, and then sleeping with a pillow under my legs made a huge, huge difference. I still walk with a severe limp, but I can walk. This is good. So the crisis du jour is that I lost my keys. I misplace things all the time, but my keys are something that I never lose. I know I had them on me on Monday because I need them to get into the bathroom at work. I didn't need them yesterday and don't remember having them since Monday, but I'm fairly positive that they made it at least out of the office with me when I left that day. I spent my lunch hour tearing the apartment apart looking for them to no avail. I couldn't find them in Ahren's car, either. I have a duplicate of every key that was on there, but it still bugs the shit out of me that I can't find them. I even left a message with the company that cleans my office to see if they'd seen them. Grr.
Okay. That's no longer the crisis du jour.
I just got off the phone with my bank. When I sold my house, I deposited the cashier's check into my checking account, and yet, FUCKING BANK OF AMERICA put an ELEVEN BUSINESS DAY HOLD on that money. Many people experienced my wrath following this injustice. As soon as the hold was off, I moved the money straight to my ING Direct savings account, which has been getting me some lovely interest on it since. I called before I moved it to be sure that I could move it back immediately when it was time to withdraw the money. I was told yes, that ING would not put a hold on it and as soon as I requested the transfer, it would be back in my checking account. Perfect. So that's where it's been, and in the two months it's been at ING, I've made nearly $500 in interest. Awesome. So I'm supposed to close on Friday, so I've gotta get that money back, going through BOA. I went by their office today to see what I need to do to make sure they don't put another hold on it so I have it for the down payment. They said they WOULD put another hold on it unless I get it wired from ING. Are you sure they'll do that? I asked. Yes, they told me. So I called ING to get them to wire it. "We don't do that." I whimpered. You're a bank. How do you not wire money? "We don't do that." UGH. So I called BOA again, but had to leave a message. The lady was very nice but I'm terrified that she won't be able to help me and my move in day will have to be postponed, at huge expense to yours truly. Fother mucker!
Ironically, this post began as a "let me write something light and fluffy to tell the world that I am well" thing, but all this stress just popped right into my head as I sat down to type and I may just explode. I JUST WANT THIS ALL TO BE DONE WITH ALREADY! Is that so much to ask? Frick. Double frick. On a stick. )#(*&!@$
Your well wishes are appreciated.
Tx.
Peace.
