jianantonicI love that Girlyman is not the type of band that takes six years between CDs. I should have their latest work in my hot little hands within five weeks. I preordered one CD, but they get mailed out on the 14th of March, which is the same date they play in Charlottesville, so I'll probably pick up a copy there, too. You can never have too many of the exact same Girlyman CD, I say.
My frustrating situation from yesterday boiled over into this morning, but finally seems to be straightened out. But I've said that before only to be disappointed, so I'll keep my feet on the ground here (is that the right saying? It doesn't seem right. Something about feet on the ground or head not in the clouds or something? Help me out here...). Anyway, my point is that I feel like things are at least temporarily resolved, and I am relieved.
I am going to see Eddie From Ohio tonight in Staunton. I haven't seen them since Falcon Ridge - that doesn't seem right at all, but it's the truth. Damn. Anyway I'm taking Ahren with me. We went to a concert (one of his favorite bands) in St. Paul together, but this is his first experience coming to one of my shows. Amazingly, he's avoided it this long...anyway, I predict that he'll enjoy himself for the most part, but may very well wet his pants in shock when the whole room starts doing the Joe. I've decided not to warn him about that. He's not gonna do it anyway, so why give away the surprise? It's always fun to see the EFO virgins when they play "Three Fine Daughters."
In other random joyful news, NCAA baseball season has started. UVA's first series is this weekend out of town. I'm planning to blog for the team this year...they're a very exciting bunch to watch. It won't be here on LJ, though...I'll provide a link if I ever manage to get something set up.
