jianantonicI have to admit, I was kind of hoping the weather would keep enough people away from bridge that we wouldn't have a game last night. I was tired and didn't really feel up to it, and from the looks of things, we weren't going to get a game. Only four people were there with 10 minutes til game time, but damn if we didn't get exactly the minimum to run a game - 3 tables. Blech. But we started off strong and I started to feel better about being there. And for no apparent reason at all, my mom gave me $10. Thanks, Mom.
It was a weird movement with just 3 tables, and on the last round, we all shared the last 5 boards. My table finished ALL FIVE before any other table finished a single one. Rather than stick around another hour for the score, I just glanced at the director's one round to go scores and took off. We were in first, but we had a shitty last round, so it's hard to say if we held on or not. No big deal, really, winning a three table game is hardly worth anything anyway.
It's going to be a long day at work today, but when it's over, my friend Wayne is meeting me for dinner and the Wiyos at the Gravity Lounge, so I'm looking forward to that. Then tomorrow it's going to be freaking freezing again, so I don't know what we'll do, but I think Wayne is staying over (he lives in Harrisonburg) so we'll come up with something...
