Pop Quiz:
It's Saturday morning. I don't have anywhere I have to be until this afternoon. I've been sleep deprived all week. So, what time did I wake up?

If you go by the time stamp on this journal and guess "sometime around 8am," that'd probably be a good guess, but you'd be oh so wrong. 7, you say? No...

6 A effing M.

Grumble. Why is it that on weekdays when the alarm goes off, my body is totally in ready-to-fall-back-asleep-immediately mode, but on a weekend when I actually have the freedom to sleep as much as I want, my body's all "Get up! Let's do something! Come on!" as soon as the sun starts to peek through my blinds? It's not that I'm tired now and wish I could go back to sleep, it's that I know all this awakeness will make for a tired Monday, when it rolls around. Sigh. And also the world is kind of boring at 6am.

I do have a fun day ahead of me. I'm starting with the gym, whenever I get out of bed (the joy of a laptop). Then I'm meeting Emily G at Davenport Field for a UVA baseball game. I don't know what the evening has in store for me. Maybe borrowing my parents' truck and bringing the dresser up to my apartment. We will see.

I am going to get my hair cut soon. I like it long, and I will be sad to give up on the dream of waist-length hair, but it's just not growing much anymore. And it's so heavy that it's falling out. Like, a lot. So I am going to get something kicky and short. The thing is, I'm not sure if my hair will be more naturally straight or curly when it's short. It's pretty curly now, but in the past when I've had shortish hair, it's always been nothing more than relatively straight with a lot of frizz. So I don't know...

I mean, it may behave in this kind of 'do:

But I'm not sure if I really like that for me.

Something like would be fun, but what happens on days when it doesn't behave or won't be straight?

I guess I could do braids again or dreds if I start to slip into hair hell. I am going to miss my long locks. But on the other hand...they are a giant pain in the ass.

Maybe I'll get my hair cut this weekend. I'll probably cry.

Peace.

What you do is invest in a nice ceramic flat iron. My hair is stick straight, but will have occasional frizz. Flat irons make the frizz go away. Are you donating what you cut?

Yes, I'm donating it, otherwise I'd just do dreds now.
