Mar. 9th, 2007 07:31 pmI had pretty much the most boring afternoon ever. Time did not pass. When 5 o'clock finally came (and by 5 I mean 4:54), I walked to my car and drove home, arguing with myself in my head about whether or not I would go to the gym.
Angel Meg: You haven't gone since Tuesday. You need to go.
Devil Meg: But you haven't slept well, and you'll go tomorrow morning.
AM: You'll feel better if you go.
DM: You might feel worse. You feel shitty right now. What could you even do.
AM: Go home and relax for a bit if you must, but you're GOING by 6.
DM: But then when do you eat dinner? Tell yourself you'll go if you must, and maybe you'll feel up to it later. But you could skip today if you want.
AM: You can't skip! Remember how you got on a roll before? GO!
DM: You don't want to go!
AM: Call someone who'll talk you into going.
Ahren: Hey sweetie, what's up?
Meg: It's weird when you call me sweetie. It doesn't seem natural. Talk me into going to the gym.
Ahren: You don't have to go if you don't want to.
Meg: That is the wrong answer! I said talk me into it!
Ahren: Go to the gym.
Meg: I was looking for a little more encouragement than that...
Ahren: Like what?
Meg: You look great, you're doing great, keep up the good work...
Ahren: You do! All of those things! You look great, you're doing great, go to the gym, you'll feel great!
Meg: Ok. Thanks. I'll go.
I still almost talked myself out of it, but I did go. I did a pretty good mix of upper body, abs, and cardio bursts on the bike, where I learned that my legs are still quite sore after all. I do feel better now that I've gone. Hopefully I won't have to go through that whole song and dance again tomorrow when I want to go in the morning.
I forgot to go to the grocery store and now I'm vegging, trying to muster the energy to go, but I may wait until the morning. The grocery store is something I won't be mad at myself for talking myself out of tonight.
I'm tired. All this vegging is wearing me out. :)
Peace.
