DHL is my new favorite courier of packages. Not that I ever really think too much on the topic, but something I ordered on Friday NIGHT that shipped from Washington STATE, not DC, is already at my door, on Monday - it got there this morning, even, according to the tracking page. That thing crossed the country in less than one business day. Fucking incredible. It's not like the Charlottesville airport with its six whole gates is a shipping hub or anything. Now I want to order more stuff just so I can click the tracking links and be amazed. But that wouldn't be very financially responsible, so I'll refrain.
I do need some new shoes, though. I have these Skechers that I really love, and they're called "bikers," so I assume they're designed to at least function on a bike, but I'm not sure. They're sneakers, so I could work out in them, in theory, but I'm afraid to test it, because they don't have laces. They have a sort of bungee cord situation going on, and while they fit snugly, I'm just not sure they're made for working out. And since I broke my foot while wearing reasonably supportive shoes, I'm just really not one to take chances. So I think the Skechers will be for style only and I'll go out and get a new pair of actual running shoes. Maybe I can do that tonight between work and 7pm when I have my appointment with Jen. Hmm...a definite time-passing possibility.
Almost 3pm. Two hours to go until my next time milestone. Still probably 12 hours before the long lost bridge partner gets home. Tick, tock...
Peace.
