Bomb threats

There has been a series of bomb threats at local schools, causing evacuations and closings and general ado. I know these things have to be taken very seriously and nothing is going to change in the way they are handled, but let's face it. If you want to blow up a school, are you going to place your bomb in an auspicious location and then make sure all the authorities know it's there? No. Bomb threats are just ways kids can get out of class. I remember when I was in high school, we got evacuated about once a week my junior spring because of bomb threats - my favorite was when someone wrote the word "bomb" in red lipstick in a girls' bathroom and we got out of school for the day. I mean, really.

Yeah, Broadway had one where the kid called it in from the pay phone in the fricking lobby of the school. Needless to say, he was promptly apprehended...

i dunno why the word "bomb" written in the bathroom would create such a fuss. i mean, bombs get dropped in the bathroom all the time, especially after lunch.

Wow, I don't remember all of those...well, I remember at least one (we went out to the bus parking lot) but not a spate of them.

Sophomore year was Columbine, if that makes it easier to place in time...
