aaaaaaaaaaaand exhale
Mar. 29th, 2007 01:28 pmWell my TV time is over now. That was fun. Ahren and Mom were there for moral support, but I was on my own for the interview. I'd calmed down pretty well by the time we got started, because my mom had given me a script and I knew everything I was going to be asked - or so I thought. The reporter totally deviated from the script and caught me way off guard, which prompted a rush of nerves at the beginning, but I settled in (it was only about a minute long) and did fine. The reporter lady was very nice, and it was cool to see in the studio. They wear so much makeup! And the studio is larger than I'd expected. You always hear that TV sets are surprisingly small when you see them in person, but this one was actually quite a bit bigger than I thought it would be. Or maybe it just felt big because I was nervous and intimidated. But everyone was really nice to me. When I was done and I was leaving the studio, my nerves still hadn't quite worn off, but some tech guy came up to me and introduced himself and asked for lessons! He was about my age, and he was wearing a Trogdor the Burninator shirt, so I figured he was a cool guy. I hope he follows up about lessons.
Mom took us out to eat afterwards, and then when I came back to the office, all the guys said they'd watched it on the internet. They said I did a good job and looked very photogenic, despite the fact that my boss warned me not to go on camera without makeup. Whatever. And my mom kept trying to get me to comb my hair before we went on, but it's as combed as can be - it's just curly and crazy. But anyhow I feel like I did alright, and it certainly wasn't the worst two minutes of my life. And I'm glad it's behind me:)
One more kid to interview today in about an hour, then I get to hunker down and do all my real work. Woo.
Peace.

(but if you're an RHCP fan, that's a bonanza!)
if your interview is on the internet it's well-hidden
(at least well-enough hidden to elude me at 1:30 a.m.)
