Mar. 31st, 2007 08:12 amAt the gym yesterday after work, I did legs, abs, and then hopped onto an elliptical trainer for cardio. I have this problem on the ellipticals, especially when I am wearing new shoes (which I was - a new, sleeker version of the old Nike Shox I've had for a while now), and that is that my feet fall asleep while I'm working out. Isn't that weird? I guess it's mostly just my toes, but it's such a strange/uncomfortable feeling. I think it happens some when I run, but it's usually just on the ellipticals. I wonder why that is, and if there's anything I can do about it. Nothing is cutting off my circulation or anything.
Anyhow, I'd finished up with time to spare, so I did not in fact brave the locker room showers. I went home, where Ahren was cooking dinner for me, and cleaned up for bridge.
Patrick and I had a decent game. I made some bonehead errors - for some reason, I always fuck up more with a new partner - and I can't tell how he felt about the game. It was an open game, and we were the C-est of the C's, but we held our own. We took two tops from Kirk/Porter, which is probably the strongest pair we played against, so we have that to be proud of. We finished the whole game with a 51% and .41 masterpoints. It's not as well as I like to do, but considering I was partnering an easybridge student, I'm well pleased. Ahren shined yesterday, finishing 2nd overall in the afternoon session (I was at work and didn't play) and 5th overall last night, picking up nearly 2.5 masterpoints on the day. So the little fucker gained on me, but 2 masterpoints will not make or break this race. We're playing together the rest of the weekend - I only hope he can keep playing as well.
Every member of our Sunday team played above 50% in yesterday's open game, so I'm pretty confident in our chances against the NLM crowd no matter how we mix the teams. It should be a fun weekend.
And the guy from the TV station emailed me last night about bridge lessons, so it seems he really is following up. Awesome. Now to go work out.
Peace.
