Oh, I'm such a girl.

So I have this really cute dress picked out for my brother's wedding tomorrow. The only problem is that I don't really own any jewelry that matches it well, so I decided to go out on the mall and get something I could wear. The dress is fire engine red with a white floral pattern, and the only gemstones that would really go well would be rubies (too expensive) and pearls. I figured I'd probably end up with some solid silver pieces, but I set out with an open mind...which is why I led myself into the pawn shop.

After poking around for a while, I spotted a really cute pearl necklace and earring set in white gold, so I asked to look at it. It's really cute, and the price was well below what I'd calculate for wholesale, so I said I'd take it. Then the guy was like, "Oh, wait, there's a ring in that set, too."
"Um, I don't really need a ring."
"It's included in the price. They're sold together."
"OH!"
And to be honest, the ring is my favorite piece. And the nicest. There are little diamonds in it too and it's just very dainty and sweet. Who knew I'd ever want dainty and sweet? Most of my other jewelry can best be described as "honkin'."

I also picked up a pearl bracelet from a jeweler on the mall and overall feel like I got a pretty killer deal. I love that my office is in the middle of all this.

Two more hours of work, then it's off to the Poconos with Slye:)

Yay for jewelry! I like dainty things. :-) (Though I do have this really great ring that I wear on my flamingo days, it's absolutely ridiculous.)
