Jul. 21st, 2007 06:37 amI never thought I'd be this way, but I'm actually totally excited and anxious for the new Harry Potter book. Not so completely excited that I went out and bought it at midnight, but my reasons for that are threefold:
1. I was asleep at 9pm, just like most other nights.
2. I remain terrified of spoilers. I know last time a bunch of assholes ran around at release parties shouting spoiler information, and I don't want that to happen to me.
3. I don't feel like I've reviewed book 6 enough yet.
Oh and I also ordered a copy online which should come this afternoon. I can wait the extra 12 hours, especially since I'll be playing bridge all day anyway.
I do feel like I should re-read (at least skim) book 6 before starting up on #7, because after spending some time looking at summaries on the internet, I realized just how much I'd forgotten from that book. But a part of me wants to just dive into the latest book and finish it by Monday, because most of my coworkers will have done just that, and there's a serious chance one of those fuckers (NATE) will spoil it for me if I'm not already done. Then another part of me says I shouldn't worry about not being done, because I've got a long car ride on Wednesday/Thursday to Falcon Ridge, and I'll want something entertaining to read for that. Sigh. I can't believe I'm so anxious about this whole situation.
Anyway, I am looking forward to it very much, and if anyone can link me to a detailed recap of book 6 (the best one I found so far was only done through chapter 11), I'd really appreciate it.
Peace.
