Good day for a broken A/C

Heat advisory in effect until 8pm tonight (whatever the eff that means) and a new record temp for Charlottesville (for August 8th, that is - it's been hotter than 101 here before, unfortunately)

Maybe I'll just stay in the pool all night.

you -have- AC??? that could be fixed, si??

my apartment windows are toooo small{basement-sized that slide 1/2 way open} to fit an air conditioner, so sanch and i just suffer through the heat with 2 fans. so, precious, take the advice of a wise older-and-less-fortunate woman and try to get it fixed.

{and don't even get me STARTED about the pool.......that will just get ugly... ;) }

could be fixed? no...replaced...for about 5K. it died of old age and probably won't be revived.

You know...if I can't bitch about my situation in my own journal, then I don't know what to do...but I need to bitch about it.

I'm sorry you don't have A/C. But you knew that when you moved in, right? When I shat out a couple hundred grand for my place, I expected it to come with cool air, and the pool I never use is costing me another few hundred a year in HOA dues.

Pardon me, but sleeping in an apartment that's 100 degrees even with fans on for the last month has made me pretty cranky.

ok.....no need to get attack-y, allow me to e'splain:

a} i don't believe i said it was a contest{because what kind of crappy-ass contest would it be to see who is more miserable???}

b} i didn't read your prior post about it being the -central- air unit, not a window unit, so i figured that it was a cheap fix, not a 5K spendy one.

c} no, as a matter of fact i thought the windows opened enough to accomodate an AC when i moved in.

d} i never said you couldn't bitch about your own situation in your own journal

e} i was just pointing out that you're not alone in the heat wave

f} omg--use that damned pool and getcher money's, worth, girl!!!!! i have always had and will always -have- serious pool envy of all of my friends that have or have access to pools. i would totally LIVE in one if i had the opportunity and prob -would- sleep in it like you said {but i didn't mean that in a 'this is a contest and i wish i had a pool, pity me!!' way---just being clear. just saying if they make you pay, you should play!!} =)

I'm not trying to be attacky. It just sounded in your comment like you were telling me I shouldn't complain, and well, I've been pretty miserable for a month now, so I need to be able to complain.
