I took a nap today, and it was glorious

Because I haven't had enough bridge this week, Z and I are about to take off for the club game in Waynesboro tonight.  And I'm not going to worry about how late it'll keep me up, because I don't have to wake up early tomorrow.  This is a first for me.

Every time I've ever quit a job in the past, I've had another already lined up, and I have taken exactly zero days off between jobs since I was 18.  Aside from vacation and sick days and holidays, I have gone to work every weekday of my adult life.  I will still work.  I still write for AOL and that money will support me for now.  If it turns out that it's not enough, I'll find some other way to get by, but I think I may be done with offices.  I am a good employee, and I can really thrive in an office, but I've found that it's only a matter of time before the bullshit starts.  And I don't need that. 

It's nice to be happy again.

Isn't unstructured time lovely? I am adjusting to that again too, though I know it will be shortlived once I start working more in my mother's store for the holidays. My problem is if I get too unstructured nothing gets done. But I hear ya on being done with offices. I am just hoping I can string together enough pieces to support myself and even move forward (school etc) without having to do a regular grind, so to speak. My "old" job, I worked from home but still had somewhat regular business hours. Still, being at home meant a lot more freedom in many ways which was always a plus.

I completely understand about the bullshit thing. Been here 6 months and the bullshit is already getting to me. Enjoy your freedom and best of luck with your writing career!
