Situations being as they have been, I have been unable to do much writing lately, but I have written two things in the last 24 hours that will explain what's going on.
Here and

Vi Farmen Sherwood was born August 20, 1923 in Grygla, Minnesota to the late Christian and Julia Farmen. She grew up in Jefferson, Oregon, and married the love of her life, Earl Sherwood, on Christmas Day, 1944. She died peacefully in her home on Sunday, February 3.

Friends and family will cherish memories of Vi’s wide open heart and passion for life. She especially loved children, and following her retirement from the US Bank, she enjoyed volunteering at Brush College School and teaching Sunday school at Kingwood Bible Church, where she was a lifetime member.

Vi was a loving mom to her children, Cindy (Chris) Myers, Randal (Angela) Sherwood, and Ron (Zola) Sherwood and a devoted grandmother to Mac Myers and Alec McCulloch. She enjoyed the constant company of her siblings Ethel McCulley, Jean Wood, Arlene Pool, Lee Farmen, and her late sister Hazel Gallagher.

An adventure enthusiast, Vi loved small plane flights, sporty cars, elephants, boats, roller coasters, and hot air balloon rides. She will be remembered for her constant joyful laughter.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 6, from noon until 7pm at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Thursday, February 7 at Kingwood Bible Church with a reception to follow in the church hall. There will be a private interment at Belcrest Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to Brush College Elementary School, care of Gary White, 2623 Doaks Ferry Rd NW, Salem, OR 97304.

This will appear in tomorrow's Statesman Journal Newspaper in Salem, OR.

Very sorry to hear about McKenzie's grandmother. Mine collected elephants, too!

Glad to hear that Delta was so responsive to the travel change. Definitely a gold star for them!
