Apr. 2nd, 2008 03:59 pmI'm in the car right now, about 30 minutes away from Philly, where we're picking up Lucy en route to Brooklyn (and I can't get that WA9 song out of my head). My brother called about an hour ago to say it looked like the baby would be here by the time we arrive. Sweet.
I've been reading various periodicals on the drive, and I've become increasingly more irate with the terrible editing in these professional publications. Three times in one newspaper and once in a novel, I found inappropriate apostrophes. How do people not know that it's wrong to put apostrophe's in plural word's? How basic is that? Sometimes it's just an accident (I've caught myself doing it a time or two), but in a professional publication, these accidents should never slip through the proofreading stage, and for the editors to miss them as well? Fuck. Anyway, I got all huffy about it, and McKenzie had a funny reaction to it.
"You know, I'm flattered that a woman who's so bothered by minor details like this would choose to be with me."
Heh.
I don't have much battery left, so I'm going to sign off now. Details about my niece tonight -- maybe even with pictures.
Peace.
