So, the doc I saw today is about 95% sure of my diagnosis.  He's the first one to definitely agree with me that I don't have pilonidal disease.  Unfortunately, what I do have is not curable.  Or not treatable.  Or something.  I can try some treatment methods (some of which I already have tried, when everyone thought it was pilonidal disease, and they didn't work), but none are guaranteed and surgery isn't likely to help.  But they're willing to try surgery if nothing else works.  But since even the surgeon doesn't think surgery is the best option, I'm guessing the chances that my insurance will cover such a procedure are right around 0.  But I'm going to try some new things, and if nothing else, hope it continues to get better on its own, and be thankful that it's not serious, only frustrating.

The other frustrating thing:  having an appointment at 2, having only about 10 minutes of face time with doctors, and not getting out until 5.  I'm glad McKenzie was there with me.

Peace.

yes, unfortunately the ass transplant operation has not received enough research, and the chances of rejecting the donor ass would be too high. not to mention that finding a suitable ass donor would be difficult. the ass must be a similar genetic match, and must be in good condition i.e. the donor couldn't have died from falling on their ass. furthermore, the ass must be properly fitted to fit your body shape.

did the doctor say what your condition is called? maybe i can find a cure...i have like test tubes and shit over here.

The info he gave me says it's an actual specific condition. It can be caused by trauma or it can come on spontaneously. Mine was spontaneous. Their best guess was that my weight loss caused it, because I was sitting differently with less fat on my ass.
