Apr. 11th, 2008 04:55 pmSo, the doc I saw today is about 95% sure of my diagnosis. He's the first one to definitely agree with me that I don't have pilonidal disease. Unfortunately, what I do have is not curable. Or not treatable. Or something. I can try some treatment methods (some of which I already have tried, when everyone thought it was pilonidal disease, and they didn't work), but none are guaranteed and surgery isn't likely to help. But they're willing to try surgery if nothing else works. But since even the surgeon doesn't think surgery is the best option, I'm guessing the chances that my insurance will cover such a procedure are right around 0. But I'm going to try some new things, and if nothing else, hope it continues to get better on its own, and be thankful that it's not serious, only frustrating.
The other frustrating thing: having an appointment at 2, having only about 10 minutes of face time with doctors, and not getting out until 5. I'm glad McKenzie was there with me.
Peace.
