When I started this LJ, I was finishing up my second year of college, and most of my friends were in college as well.  Now that we're all grownups, nobody blogs as much anymore, except for me, because writing is what I do.  More and more, though, I'll check my friends list to find that no one has updated at all in the many hours since the last time I checked.  I used to be able to refresh the page whenever and be guaranteed new material; only a handful of new posts are on my f-list at all for the whole weekend.  This makes me sad.  I like keeping up with people via blogging, and I like having new things to read each day.

So, friends, I implore you.  If you're not going to keep the posts flowing (which is fine and understandable and I'm not going to get pissy about it), do tell me what's interesting on the internet.  Other LJ users I should meet?  Professional blogs worth checking out?  Actual news sites that are actually interesting?  I don't know what's happened to CNN lately but there's never anything good on there anymore.  This country needs a good scandal.  Enough about Britney Spears and the mortgage meltdown.  I'm bored of that.  But let's try not to make this upcoming scandal anything devastating.  Oh, and if anyone here is going to instigate the next scandal, please blog about it.  Thanks.

Peace.

Hmmmm...no scandals here.

I joined some communities, like craftgrrl. There's always somebody doing something on that one...

I read a bunch of science blogs if you're interested in any of those. A lot of them are more political than just science, they make for some interesting opinions.

You know, before I got this account a little over a year ago, I really didn't have much interest in blogging. I didn't think I would have much of anything to say that would be of any interest. Then, one of my friends pushed me to sign up so that I could see her locked posts. I've come to really enjoy having this venue since then, even though I am still not sure I am saying much of interest a lot of the time :-)

Was reading a story on boston.com today about blogging - wanted to see how they "defined" it. Do you know about alltop.com (http://www.alltop.com)? Seems to be a sort of directory of top blogging sites. I've only just started poking around in it. There's always Technorati (http://technorati.com/) and Digg (http://digg.com/) though I personally seldom remember to check them. There is SO MUCH content out there that sometimes the thought of trying to find good stuff is just about paralysing.

I'm a big fan of del.icio.us. I find it often gives me stuff to read (but maybe that's just because people I know are on it and tag stuff). My ID there is just like my email address, see if you can sign in and view my "network"'s tags.
