Stupid Americans
Apr. 17th, 2008 09:11 amFrom cnn.com:

Martha Stewart's dog is the ninth most newsworthy item of the day? We're in the midst of an economic crisis, it's an election year, pro basketball and hockey are nearing championships, and I'm sure shit is going down all over the country, but all anyone wants to read about is Martha Stewart's dog and what happened on American Idol last night?
But here's the thing -- if you CARE about American Idol, weren't you WATCHING to see who got voted off? So wouldn't that mean a news story is NOT NECESSARY? People annoy me.
Peace.

Sports events aren't made to fill the minutes between commercials -- a lot happens, and a newspaper recap is a nice way to see what the key plays were and such...some of these things aren't clear until the end of the event, at which point you're likely to have forgotten some of them.
