jianantonicJer finally got out of court after four hours yesterday. The judge was in a bad mood, so even when the cop and Jeremy explained that his brakes were malfunctioning, the judge charged him with "improper driving" citing that "he should've used his brakes instead of going off the road." Bastard. So that's 90 bucks and a hike in insurance rates. Not to mention the trauma of having to stay in an empty apartment all night.
Today is the last day I have to get my act together and turn in all my outstanding papers before grades are due. I'm thinking about it...
Helen is home. That is very much a yay. She is going with me tomorrow night to see the Robbie Schaefer show at the Gravity Lounge. Also yay.
Oh yes. I almost forgot. Christina from work and I are getting along great these days. Unfortunately for her, it's because her fiance broke up with her. I knew it wouldn't last between them, because neither one of them has ever lived away from home. They don't know hat the stress of paying bills or sharing space is like. Neither of them has even ever been out of the state of Virginia. To me, that's nuts. I know some people can't afford to travel, but we live 20 minutes away from WV. Our nation's capital is a really interesting day trip that's mostly free. Good lord. But anyway Christina is really mellow these days. I feel bad for her, but I'm glad she's gotten a reality check. Hey, maybe Meg's not a little kid just because she's younger. Meg pays bills and takes care of herself and lives with a man and they work out their problems and love each other....
I also found out that Randy is giving me a raise and giving me some benefits (half my medical insurance, paid time off) while Christina isn't getting anything. I think it's because they know Christina will leave as soon as she can find a way into nursing, although after she told me about her interview last week, I don't think this is the year. Anyhow on the reverse, they know I'm dedicated to my job and I've told them I'll stay as long as they can pay me enough to allow me to save and live comfortably.
So I need to work now...peace.
