I must be butter, because I'm on a roll.
Jun. 14th, 2008 11:21 amToday is already a much better day than yesterday. Yesterday I was just feeling shitty and lazy, and was bored and irritable all day. This morning I woke up at 6 (much better than 5 or 3) and just farted around online for a while, played some games and did nothing important for a while. Then a little later I got up and got started on my day. I showered, cleaned the bathroom (like, really cleaned -- down on my hands and knees scrubbing like a 50's housewife), lifted weights, wrote thank you notes for some wedding gifts that came in the mail, paid some bills, lifted more weights, did more random cleaning, talked to my husband, and got some shit ready for my trip to Oregon. I'm on a roll. It's certainly a manic swing, but I'm aware of that so I'm watching out for signs of a crash. Usually as long as I keep myself healthy and active, and I can see the crash coming, it's not too bad.
My cousin Allan put together a Massie family get together at my aunt's cabin in Massies Mill for tomorrow, so I'm really excited for that. It's pot luck, so I have to figure out what the heck I'll bring (I'm thinking cake, that I can purchase and will not have to cook, but maybe something healthier like a veggie tray and tub of hummus, which I also would not have to cook). From there, I'm riding to DC with Laura, spending the night with her, and flying out of Reagan in the afternoon. I've never actually been to Reagan, and one of my connections is in San Francisco, which is another city I've never actually been to. Granted, I'll be there for about 45 minutes, so it doesn't totally count, but it's a start. A lot of juniors and former juniors live in the bay area, so I would really like to visit there for the bridge scene one day soon.
It looks like I'm going to stay in Oregon for most of two weeks, and then fly back to VA in time to go with Z to a bluegrass festival near Williamsburg. SCR will be there along with dozens of other artists I've never heard of, but McKenzie loves them, and I'm getting into bluegrass big time these days, so I figure it'll be worth trying new things.
Today I need to go to the post office, go to Best Buy to get a gift and then somewhere to get a card for Dalmir, who is moving away next week, get something for the pot luck, pack all my stuff for the Oregon trip, charge my camera, and I guess that's it, unless I'm forgetting something. I have nothing better to do at the moment, so I guess I'll head on out and get started.
Peace.
