Leaving town
Jun. 15th, 2008 08:24 amI continued my busy streak yesterday until I wore myself out and fell asleep, but not without squeezing in 40 boards of great bridge on BBO with [Bad username or unknown identity: jjbrr . Playing with him is always a treat. I'm still far from perfect, but I did feel that I played pretty well. I made a red 6SXX and a 4-3 spade game with a bad break after a bidding misunderstanding. We had lots of kibitzers, so I felt pressured to play well. I always come down on myself really hard for stupid mistakes, and it's just embarrassing when other people witness them, too. But at the same time, I usually step up my game a lot when there are onlookers. Anyway I had fun. Jer is always a very nice partner. My parents will be coming to get me in a few hours, then it's bye-bye to my abode for another couple of weeks, at least. We've got a pretty solid travel schedule through mid-September, but we will be home for a few days here and there between trips. It's mostly bridge tournaments, with the exception of Falcon Ridge, which I haven't had much time to stop and think about but wow -- it's really soon:) I still need to pack for my flight. I was going to try to fit everything into a carry on bag, but McKenzie wants me to bring some of his stuff, too, so I probably won't be able to fit everything. We'll see. I guess I should get to packing and get ready for my day. Peace.]
