jianantonicI bought myself a present today. I've been wanting these shoes for years, but was never able to justify the cost. I decided recently that I would definitely buy myself a pair before FRFF, and let them be my FRFF shoes this year, since I have no effing clue what happened to my Tevas (though now that I think about it, I bet they're in the back on McKenzie's car...).
Anyway I walk by a Birkenstock store everyday here in Medford, and while I had resolved to order my Keens online, I'm glad I went into the store today. I would've ordered an 8, but the salesman told me they run really small, and I was shocked to find that I needed not an 8 or 8.5 but a 9. So I bought them from him and wore them out of the store. They were $20 off, which made them competitive with the lowest online price I'd found, and there's no sales tax in Oregon, so I feel like I got the best possible deal, even though they were still more than I normally spend on shoes. Or whole outfits.
I am well pleased with my new bright red shoes, and I can't wait to take them where they were made to go.

Date: 2008-06-24 06:11 am (UTC)I want a pair so that I can wear them to work (stupid closed toe shoe rule) when it's hot. However, I'm not loving the price tag.
I DO have got a pair of Keen Roatans (the water shoe) that I got from some woman off Craigslist in a big pile of shoes.
They're pretty nifty. Now I just need to go somewhere watery to test out that function...
