I love my little cousin dearly, and she's a very smart girl, but we have our differences.  She is EMPHATICALLY anti-abortion, and spends most of her free time stumping about it.  I followed one of her Facebook updates to a photo in an anti-abortion community, and found this caption under an ultrasound photo (not hers -- someone else's photo & words):

"this is my baby at 9 weeks and it showed a heartbeat already!
and people can destroy their babys up to about 15 weeks
thats crazy! your baby always has a heartbeat and people believe that it does not, so they can kill it!
WELL LET ME TELL YOU,YOUR WORNG!
I know that im only 17 but i already love my baby!"

YOU HEAR THAT?  YOUR WORNG!

OH YEAH?! I'm WORNG!? Well, you know that people can destroy their BABYS up to about 15 weeks.

I just think her choice of the word "destroy" is ironic. I think stupidity is more destructive than abortion...

My little cousin (something like a 3rd cousin, I've lost track already), whom I've met once, told me very seriously that Catholics were all going to hell because they practice infant baptism. She was about 8 at the time.

Children are little sponges that soak up whatever their parents tell them. Do you remember me when I was 14? Yeah. Like that. Have faith that this will pass.
