I'm not sure if sore muscles are the cause or the effect of the stress dream I had last night, but here's what it was:  I was at a hotel in Virginia Beach with two friends who live there and are dating.  We were having a lot of fun, but then they had to go be lifeguards for the day, leaving me alone at the hotel.  The beach was right there in front of me, but for some reason I had no plans to hang out there.  Every time the waves crashed, a mass of Australian mammals would come hopping up the shoreline -- koala, wallabies, and some other random guys, but they were all much bigger than their real life counterparts.

Even though conditions were unfavorable, there were lots of people on the beach.  I wanted to pet one of the koala, but for some reason that was not in the cards.  Instead, for no reason in particular, I had to keep descending and ascending this rickety spiral staircase.  It scared the shit out of me, as there was nothing to really grip near the top, and I was constantly afraid of falling.

Once safely back inside the hotel, I tried to use the hottub and pool, but you needed to know a number combination to "turn them on" even though there was water in them already.  It was weird.  I had known the combo at one point, but now only my lifeguarding friends had it, and I couldn't find them.  So I just kept going up and down that horrible, frightening staircase.

Also in an earlier dream, I took a surfing lesson, but there were no waves where we were.  We just went out in the water and practiced standing -- except we weren't even on surfboards, but cheap plastic rafts.  Apparently I have some subconscious ocean-related anxiety.

Heh, and I just remembered one other mini-dream.  I was back at my old office, not as an employee, but just to use their computers.  The guy who replaced me at my old job was a real dumbass, and I was enjoying knowing that the company would fail as a result.

I guess the margarita I had with dinner hadn't completely worn off by bedtime.

Peace.

You know, when you're dreaming, you really really should avoid the water and getting wet. Because getting wet in a dream is a really bad idea.

While it doesn't explain why you were allowed to surf in the dream, that's probably one semi-subconscious reason why you couldn't go onto the beach and into the waves and certainly not into the hot tub.

I would suspect that going into the hot tub during a dream would result in a very bad and abrupt result.

Nah, I have water dreams a lot...I've never wet the bed, though I also have this really frustrating pattern of not waking up when I have to pee, but instead dreaming about having to pee and being blocked at every opportunity, ie: all the bathrooms are disgusting, no privacy, no bathrooms at all, etc.
