Just a couple loads of laundry, about five minutes' worth of organizing CDs and DVDs, and a bit of vacuuming, and Z and I are done with the great condo clean of '08. The place looks really good, and I'm really pleased. It looks more and more like an adult's home every day, and I sort of dig it.
We're on our way out for a bit to get our hairs cut, drop off some stuff at my mom's, borrow her vacuum cleaner (I lost my Dyson to Ahren in the breakup, but he only just took it back a few weeks ago), and hopefully finish up the house stuff tonight. Then tomorrow will be all for cleaning out our cars, Tuesday is for packing, and Wednesday is for getting our asses to Vegas, by way of Connecticut. Heck yeah.
When we get back from our trip, I'll want to do a few more decorating things here, like put up some of the paintings I own. We have two things we want to get framed -- our bracket sheet from beating Meckwell and a July 1969 newspaper from Oregon about the moon landing that Z's mom sent us. I also have a bunch of pieces that Helen painted, as well as a large painting my brother gave me from his friend's art show that I'd like to finally put on display. But these are things to worry about another day.
This week has been a whole lot of up and down, but it seems to be ending on a high note. I feel really great about all we've done around the place so far, and I'm glad we're even ahead of schedule on it all. The next couple of days shouldn't be too stressful, for which I am thankful. I'm excited for our next adventures, but I'm also glad to have a few more days to enjoy home before we wave goodbye again. When we get back, my oldest niece will be visiting, so I have plenty to be excited about. Not looking forward to FRFF being over, but at least it won't suck to come home.
Peace.
