jianantonicWe finally met our new roommate yesterday. Amy is here for five weeks, and we're here for about one and a half of those with her; maybe a little more if our bridge plans change. She came out to trivia with us last night, and a good time was had by all. We like her.
Today is Lucy day. I hope I survive it:)
We submitted a hand yesterday to the Bridge World's Challenge the Champs. Jeff Rubens wrote me back this morning to thank me for the deal and congratulate me (it was one of the swing boards from our victory over Meckwell). I've been keeping an eye out for play problems as they come up, because I'd like to submit more to TBW. I also want to gather some material for a new project Z and I are working on. Did I mention it here already?
We talked about starting our own bridge website, with a bridge blog or two, plus lessons, problems, and information. Hopefully we can launch that soon. We will see.
There's been some drama in the last few days in our little bridge club. I'm kind of glad I'm skipping today's game. Hopefully all is well by the weekend, cause I can't skip any of the tournament. I'm really looking forward to having Chris and Tam here for the weekend:) Our team is going to dominate -- at least, that's the plan. We'll see if it works out.
If you're a bridge player, I hope you'll come to Charlottesville this weekend. It's my first real tournament as chairperson, and if you recall from a few months back, there was some drama over that issue, too. So it's important to me that this weekend is a rousing success. Bring your friends!
