Today I went to DC. That was fun, but of course the dominating thought in my head is "HOUSE!" so I'm going to talk about that instead.

Since the house is now mine, barring something awful and unlikely, I will go into detail...
It is in the Massanutten Village, which means that I get to use most of the resort for free, and the rest of it at discount prices. The rest = skiing, tubing, and golf. It's a big house. The owners were asking close to 200,000 for it, but they got relocated before they could sell it so the price dropped way down. I got it for 154,000, beating out another bidder by the skin of my teeth. *whew* Anyway it is much nicer than most houses in its price range. I'll explain. When I first saw it, I walked in, through the kitchen, which has a bar that opens to the family room area, past a half bath and to the first bedroom. It was huge. It has its own little hallway with a closet on one side and a decent sized bathroom on the other side. Must be the master suite. Moving on, the family room has this brick columny thing down the middle with a fireplace. It's carpeted and looks quite nice. It's also got floor to ceiling windows with hanging blinds. The stairs curve along down behind the brick thing. Downstairs is an open room just like the family room upstairs, but with a lower ceiling and hardwood floors. There's a patio downstairs and a deck upstairs. Another bedroom is down on the left. It has a lot of space, a big closet, and its own bathroom with a standup shower. Nice. Then there's one more room. Jeremy led me in there with my eyes closed because he wanted it to be a surprise. It turns out, the upstairs bedroom, nice as it is, is definitely not the master suite. This room is HUGE. I turn around and WHAM! HUGE whirlpool tub. Six seater or so, I would say. Maybe four. Anyway it's IN the bedroom, in its own little area with mirrors all around (which I imagine fog up immediately any time the tub is on but a nice touch anyway). Then I go in the bathroom. It is really huge. It must be 15 feet from the door to the tub. The laundry hookup is on one side of the room and the tub and sink are on the other side. All in all, the house is 3br/3.5bath, 2400 square feet, .24 acres on a corner lot and cul de sac, two fireplaces, two hot water heaters, a deck, a patio with swing, a U gravel driveway, right across from the recreation area at the bottom of the mountain...it's beautiful. We get to move in next month. I can't wait. I really am very lucky. Perfect husband and now perfect house. Throw my friends, family, and job into the mix, and I really couldn't ask for more.
Peace.

YAY Meg! You rock so much! House = mucho exciting. I am so proud of you. You're kinda becoming my yardstick for growing up, because you're my age but you're doing all this stuff way before I will (house, marriage, etc). Good job!

Love,
Em
