jianantonicAt my Weight Watchers meeting yesterday, the guy sitting behind me kept coughing and sneezing. Today I have a bitch of a sore throat. Grr. Z is going to the store to get some vitamin C for me, which will hopefully keep this thing from getting worse, because I need my health. We're going down to North Carolina for the Mountainsong Festival tomorrow, and then we fly to Oregon on Tuesday. Have I mentioned that I'm excited about these things?! But I really don't want to be sick.
Last night was also the Instant Matchpoint Game at our bridge club. My partner and I played pretty well -- could've been a lot better, but it was a first time partnership and he was late, so we had literally no time to discuss our card. Here's what I filled out: 2/1. That's it. Heh. And we won the thing! Well, okay, we just won our direction, and we're definitely not in the running for the district overalls, but I'm still proud of our win. It's a fun form of scoring.
I haven't played much bridge in the past month, but I've got lots of club dates for Oregon and also I'm playing with a pretty good partner in the Seaside Regional, so I think we should have a pretty good time. I'm also finally officially recognized by the ACBL as a life master -- I just got the official word, even though I now have 600 points, and the 300 points I've won this year also include all the required pigments. Heh.
I'm feeling shitty, but I think it'll be good for me to peel myself out of bed and go down to the clubhouse to get some work done.
