Nan is funny
Jan. 14th, 2004 07:25 amNan is my art professor. Yesterday we took a college van out to Augusta County to see a studio. On the way, Nan drove for a bit with the parking brake on. No major fiasco or anything, but those vans are scary enough as is. Anyhow, on the way back, she started to do the same thing, but I, being the paranoid back seat driver that I am, alerted her to the situation. However, the van became quite rickety somewhere near the county line, and the check engine light came on. We all know what I think of that light, but everyone went into a frenzy trying to explain what it could be. Then Judy noticed - hey, we're out of gas! Nan: "SHIT!" It was priceless. We made it back to campus and did not do the service of filling up before we did, because those assholes gave us an empty tank, so they'll just have to hope it starts when they go fill it up.
Today is home inspection day. It's also run-around-like-crazy-hoping-that-we're-all-in-the-right-place-at-the-right-time day. Jeremy's not going to have his car today, and he has to go to Massanutten without me because I have to work, but he was scheduled wrong at his work, so he might not get off in time to go, and if he does, he'll have to come get my car at ADF, but that might be a problem because we're going to Charlottesville with my art class today. We're supposed to be back by 2 at the latest, which would get me at ADF just in time to make the switch...but not everyone is as obsessed with punctuality as I am.
Anyhow, it's time to start my day. Wish me luck. Peace.
