Off to a good start

jianantonicI just had my first class of my last semester here at BC. Introduction to Astronomy. The professor seemed really cool. He told us something that got me thinking a little bit. We were discussing Bush's plan for a manned mission to Mars. Spickler says that with today's technology, if everything goes right, it would be no less than a four year round trip...and a lot can go wrong in four years. He also said that all the space shuttles are loaded with a lot of explosives, and Houston has a button. Basically, if the shuttle goes out of control and is headed for New York City or something, they push a button in Houston, blow up the shuttle, and we hear on the news that there's been a terrible explosion and no one knows what went wrong. Sound like Columbia, anyone? I wonder.
I went to the bookstore this morning to see about buying my textbooks, only to realize I don't have my wallet. I checked anyway - looks like the damage is about $400 - FOR THREE CLASSES. That's bullshit, man. But I'll suck it up and buy them. Another thing I haven't bought this semester is a meal plan. Since my wallet is MIA, and I have to be here all day for comps, that means I don't get to eat until dinner. I'm starving already. All I ate for breakfast was 1/4 of a bagel. At least I have my trusty Nalgene full of water.
Left on the schedule for today are Logic and comps. Normally, I'd have astronomy lab on Wednesday, but since it's comp day, he cancelled this week's meeting. Fine by me:) That means I can go back to ADF when I finish my comp and get another three or four hours of work today. I need all I can get, since we ended up closing the store on Monday and I didn't get to work. I'm really counting on 38+ hours a week until graduation so I can get all my bills paid. I just had a thought. I'll go hang out with Jenny and see if she's got any food in her room...:)
