Here are the two Valentine's Day features I wrote for AOL that got such high praise from my bosses:

Meaning of Love: Colored Stones Decoded  (This one gets repetitive, so I don't find it as interesting as some of my other work.)

Most Hated Love Songs (This one was fun, but I really agonized over it.  I'm pleased with how it turned out.)

I have a new PT up today, too, on waterfalls.  I've had some killer writer's block lately, so that was kind of a copout topic.  But it has pretty pictures:)

Right now I'm working on getting ahead on some of my AOL Shopping stuff so I can relax next week in Florida, but it's slow going.  I'm still having trouble sleeping, and when I wake up I'm really lethargic.  I'm going to go to the gym in a little while, and I'm long overdue for a touchup appointment with my fingernails, so I guess I should get on with that today, too.  Then Z and I are probably going to Waynesboro to play cards tonight.  Long day, not a lot of time for actual work...oh well.  Guess I should get on with it while I've got a little time now, anyway.

Peace.

Thanks! I so wanted to put more folk music in there (for the favorites list), but I had to stick to commercial stuff. I liked my lists in the end:)

Dispatch's "Out Loud" is still number 1 -- I'd have to think a while on the rest. There are so many good ones, but my favorites aren't very traditional.

I apologize if you read my last comment. It was because I had not read carefully. I am embarrassed!!!

I especially love (hate?) your list of worst songs and your descriptions.

What about "Wonderful", that horrid song that haunted me all through middle school and college?! That song haunts me still. I would be dismayed to realize how many people probably like it...it's ruined for life when it's the only slow song at the dance and the one you're standing on the sidelines for...for 5 years running.

I don't know that one off the top of my head -- who sings it?

I think it's actually "you look wonderful tonight" by eric clapton. I hate that guitar riff more than ANYTHING ELSE ON THIS EARTH. And now it's stuck in my head. I need a power drill, stat.

Oh, right right right. Yeah that one's generally in the "favorites" column. I don't dislike it, but I agree that it's overused.

See, this is why CTY was wonderful...I get nostalgic, not sad, about "Forever Young" by Alphaville and "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel, even though I only danced with a boy once in all my four years at that summer camp (which would be...oh, math math math, approximately 24 dances). We did a lot of (mixed-gender) circle dancing.
