Just when I was getting confident with the whole bus system and exploring Portland on my own business, I fucked up and got myself badly lost. I had to call Z to come get me. This is the first time I've braved public transit since then, and Z is a thousand miles away. Wish me luck!

I don't know why it's like this, but the Portland buses automatically announce the stops in the SE quadrant, but once we cross the river, those announcements stop. I always ask the driver to announce my stop, but I have a hard time hearing/understanding them. Riding the bus stresses me out. But I want to get better. I want to take advantage of the vast mass transit here and be independent and get around the city a lot. I'll get there, but it'll be a slow learning process, especially since I'm never home.

As per Sethy's advice, I'm wearing my Keens today. They're still caked in Dodds Farm mud, and I just realized they smell a little iffy. By "a little iffy," I mean "a lot like poop.". Oh well. Just doing my part to keep Portland weird.

I think my stop is coming up. I <3 Saturday Market.

How are you posting? Is it a method by which you could also track where you are on a map? My iphone has google maps that will route via public transit and then you can track where you are on the route. That way you would know when you get to your stop.

Blackberry. The navigation features on it are really effing confusing, so I've never been able to really use them. I'm pretty much retarded when it comes to getting around a city, even with technological aides. But I did it today. I"m home now :)
