Aug. 17th, 2009 04:00 pmI guess I'm dedicated or something. The heat wave finally hit Portland today. It's 90 degrees right now. Here's what I've done so far today:
- walked a mile to Fred Meyer and walked a mile home with various groceries including the gallon of milk Dave wanted.
- went to the un-air-conditioned gym for one of the toughest workouts I've given myself all summer
- came home to my un-air-conditioned house (it's not borked, we just don't have A/C), leaving a trail of sweat behind me
- took a shower with the water on as cold as it would go
I refused to dry off after my shower, because the beads of cold water are the only thing keeping me comfortable at the moment, so I'm sitting here wet and dripping, but feeling really, really good. Truth be told, the house isn't that uncomfortable even without A/C, because I live in the basement where there's practically no light at all. I'm just still really hot from my workout. I was going to walk to the post office to mail a couple of things, but that's like another two mile walk, and I just don't have it in me right now.
I've got a lot to do, but nothing particularly urgent, and I sort of just feel like sitting around and doing nothing. Maybe a little bit of work. But I'm not in the mood to do laundry or go to Costco at the moment. I mean, I'm always in the mood for Costco, but I'm not in the mood to GO to Costco. If only it would come to me.
Peace.
