Most people who know me in person know that I chew gum approximately 27 hours a day.  I'm like a pack a day gum chewer.  It helps me to not constantly stuff my face with things that will make me fat.  There are two main types of gum that I chew.  Both are Orbit brand.  My favorite is Mint Mojito, which is definitely an acquired taste.  I hated it the first time I tried it, but gave it another chance anyway because it was so much sproingier than any other gum I'd ever had, even in the Orbit line.  Long after losing its flavor, this gum was still fun to chew.  This gum is the ideal consistency.  

I've tried pretty much every other flavor that Orbit makes, but only one other compares to the delight of chewing the Mint Mojito.  That one is Sangria Fresca.  The flavor itself is better, but it doesn't quite measure up to the chewability of the Mint Mojito.  Still, it's a good one, so I mix it up between these two.  

I was down to my last pack yesterday, so I went to the grocery store.  They were all out of Mint Mojito, which had been marked down to $0.99 from the regular $2.99 for a 3-pack.  That made me panic -- is Orbit discontinuing this flavor?  I don't think you can overestimate my dependence on this gum.  I made a mental note to write the company and beg them to keep producing the flavor, and at the same time cursed Fred Meyer for running out of it before I could take advantage of the major savings.  I grabbed a pack of the Sangria flavor and went on my way.

(It appears that I have gone on for three paragraphs about gum.  Kudos to those of you still with me, and I apologize that your life is so boring.)

Anyway, I chewed my last piece of Mint Mojito before dinner, and once I'd eaten, I opened the new pack of gum.  Immediately I was hit with the unmistakable smell of cinnamon.  I'd grabbed Cinnamint by mistake -- the package is very similar to the Sangria Fresca flavor, but the gum itself could not be more different.  It's hard, unyummy, and unbubbleable.  I am a sad girl.

I was going to call it a night and settle in with a DVD, but I think I have to run to the store now, because this just won't do.

Gum is very important. I'm more a spearmint girl (extra or orbit), but I do love the mint mojito, too. They'd better not stop making it!

Ooh, ooh. I HEART*HEART*HEART Orbit gum. The Orange was my first love--some of my former students know it as the "sunshine gum of happiness"

I seem to have these brief, intense affairs with the flavors Orbit likes to discontinue. I really loved the raspberry one, and can't find it anymore, I loved the lemon one, I love the sangria one and can't find it any more (some of this is a donna keeps moving + regional problem)...

So I hope you can find your mojito flavor for as long as you both shall live.

Personally, I hate that flavor. One of my students gave it to me in class, and I almost threw up. I felt like I was chewing on pine-sol. But other friends insist that once you get past that, it's like chewing a gin and tonic.

But it's not for me.

mint mojito is great, but for me it's the kind of thing that i get tired of after i've chewed a lot of it, so perhaps it's like that for other people. but hopefully they haven't discontinued it.

that said, Dr. Hong says that excessive gum chewing can cause TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT SYNDROME which is an inflammation of the temporomandibular joint. that said, i am am also a heavy gum chewer, but i have found that orbit wintermint flavor seems to be a tolerable everyday gum.

I *heart* the mint mojito as well, so more for us---LOL!!!!

D-I'll look for some of the Sangria flavour and if I finds it, will adsd it to the package I am shipping you.
