McKenzie informed me yesterday afternoon that Delta is having a big fare sale right now, and I should finalize as many more of my travel plans as I can, and do it in a hurry.  The sale ends today.  I've already made one difficult decision -- I had to choose between a regional in Florida and a sectional in Utah.  I chose Utah.  It just seemed like the more practical option, given that I don't have a game lined up for Florida, and one of my favorite partners wants me for Utah.  So [livejournal.com profile] jkpolk , I will be there while you're there.  11/5-11/9 in SLC.

I was also confused about when my best friend is coming to Portland.  All along, I've thought it was September, but really it's in October, during the week I was planning on going back to Virginia.  I've pretty much decided that I won't go back to VA until Thanksgiving, but I'll go out on the 18th or so and squeeze in two VT games then.  NC State on the 21st and UVA on the 28th.  The plan all along (like, ever since last year) has been for me to fly out to the San Diego nationals on Sunday and play for the final week of the tournament.  McKenzie will be at the tournament the whole time, so the hotel will be an expense whether I go or not.  But now I'm thinking of not going.  I don't have any partners lined up -- in fact all of my favorite partners are either taken for the week or not coming, most just not coming.  I will be bummed to miss a national, especially when McKenzie will be there without me, but I could save like $700 by skipping it.  And I always eat like a cow at the nationals and then stress about that, so I could be back in Portland, burning off the Thanksgiving calories at my gym and getting work done, making money instead of spending it.  All practical arguments point to "skip San Diego," but it still breaks my heart to write it off, so I don't know!  But I have to decide today, or it gets more expensive either way.

I'm definitely going to Reno at the end of the year, but I have to decide if I'm flying round trip from PDX, or if I'm going to Virginia for Xmas.  I have to talk to my mom about that.  Calling her now...  Okay, apparently the whole family will be there.  (Some years, my brother's custody arrangement doesn't allow for us to have Lucy over Xmas, and we do family Xmas on different days.)  So I think I do want to be in Virginia.  So that settles that.

OMG even cheap plane tickets are expensive, y'all.  Sigh.

I was just having an IM conversation with Greg, and he said "that is a pretty sick offer," to which I replied, "yeah it's pretty sweet."  I love how "sick" and "sweet" are synonyms there.  English is funny.

Anyway I need to get back to my travel spreadsheet.  This is so complicated I had to do a spreadsheet.  Ugh.  Also, I'm starting to feel broke.

Weigh in quickly on the San Diego question, please.

Peace.
